RWYB at Dragways

Post by stepa1007 »

Hi

I attended York dragway yesterday. Not been for 10 years - it was awesome fun. Took the 928 GTS and the Rose. Handful of other Porsches present too. A 997 Turbo, another 928 GTS (left early before I got there) and a 928 S4. Fantastic fun and I am hooked again.

Now looking at visiting Santa Pod for the 'Flame and Thunder' on the 31st.
Is anyone else thinking of attending this event?

Hi Siggy

Two best runs in the GTS were 14.15 sacs at 98.05 MPH and 14.27 secs at 99.96 MPH.
No idea why the faster time had a lower terminal speed?

The Rose was a tiny fraction slower on each run.
I thought it would be quicker as Porsche list its standing quarter at 13.5 and my first Rose managed 14.05 at York.
The 928 needs a service and is scheduled for de-catting... hope to have that done before Santa Pod.

I had hoped to beat 14 and 100 with both cars.
