Silverstone Classic - 24th to 26th July 2009

Post by PaulPSB »

Hi Folks

For those of you that are interested in attending, and I suspect there are a fair few, you will be pleased to know the club will display at the show all three days.

The web site http://www.silverstoneclassic.com will go live on Friday of this week and will have contact details for the ticket booking office which goes live on Monday 16 March.

The two for the price of one ticket offer is available to all club members displaying their cars up until 30 June.

As in previous years one of the main attractions to this event will be the ever growing display of privately owned classic cars which, last year, was made up of no fewer than 68 UK based Classic Car Clubs. They are already running at 77 clubs showing interest for 2009 and are aiming to have 3,500 classic cars on site for this year’s event which will feature a full day of qualifying and a programme of 22 races over the 3-day long weekend.

The BOGOF offer, 2 tickets for the price of one, will again be available to all Classic Car Club members displaying their cars on the infield. And they have made available a special £5 discount against public prices on all individual day tickets purchased by Classic Car Club members prior to 30th April 2009

Admission tickets include

FREE Club Display Area Parking

FREE Grandstand Seating

FREE Paddock Transfer

Children under 16 go FREE (provided accompanied by adult, maximum 2 children per adult)

Check the website out on Monday for pricing

See you there!

This is a must do event for any petrolhead

Unfortunately I don't think I can make it this year

Looks like I will be in the French Alps instead

As an ex alpinist and bike racer I am destined to be in the Alps as the Tour de France will be passing through and has a stage based on Annecy this year.

Might even get a ride for one of the trade teams!

Hi Paul,

Sounds good to me, will have to order some tickets when I get back. The plan for us is to go Friday afternoon and camp Friday & Saturday then leave on Sunday afternoon.
Camping at a site opposite the mean entrance at a farm/camp site.
So far there will be six of us.

Regards

John

Hi Paul

Have been on to the Silverstone Classic website which advises discounts available to registered car club members who have a promotional code.

Do TIPEC members get a promotional code? If so how/ where?

Is it just me or have the prices gone up significantly since last year?

I'm sure I didn't pay anything like £79 for the 3 day pass last time!

Sorry Chris - I've only just received the discount code.

To get the £5 discount and BOGOF offer you need to pm Sean for the discount code.

For those that are non members the discount saves you £79. The cost of membership is £40 and you are still £39 ahead of the game.

Cheers

was planning to do this event this year But (imho) its just too expensive. i am not really bothered about watching racing so am paying over £70 just to display my car (or cars)at the event.

also it requires me to give details of car i'll be bringing.. almost impossable for me to deside in advance. it very much depends on the weather and what mood the cars are in

I've had a note from the organisers about pricing.

Last year was much cheaper than the year before and the event made a loss. £13 a day isn't too bad per person when you look at the entertainment on offer.

I've given them both of my registrations just in case.
