987 Cayman Antenna
Have got lousy, non existent FM reception in the car since I got last year, after reading forums, and watching YouTube vids, I removed the passenger side a-frame trim to replace the antenna amp. There didn’t seem to have one!?, just a plastic bar with the aerial wire fitted into slots along the bar. There was a part number of 987.637.235.00, which appears to link on line as some sort of amp, but as the aerial wire just seems to be clipped loosely to the edge of this unit with no visible electrical connection I’m at a loss?, does it work via induction or something? Or is there an amp somewhere else?

Re: 987 Cayman Antenna
On the parts diagrams I see the part number 997 647 117 00 (branded "left") I assume thats left hand side not left hand drive - the "right" version of that is 997 647 118 00 - they are called Aerial Amplifier - I can't find a reference to the part number listed - these amplifiers appear to be listed against option code PR 440 (Antenna Diversity) - which I think is standard.
As far as I know / have read - the amp is in the left hand a pillar as you describe - and it's next to the receiver for the key remote - but I haven't needed to dig in mine to find out.
Are you sure of that part number - I can't find a reference to it?
