Cayman/Boxster future classics ?
I have read that Porsche are possibly fazing out production of the Cayman/Boxster range, what are you thoughts on these cars becoming classics of the future ?

Re: Cayman/Boxster future classics ?
I cannot honestly see them disappearing as they are big earners for Porsche. Not so much the Cayman but certainly the Boxster, OPCs can sell pretty much all they get.
According to this website Porsche sold 8400 Boxsters in 2017. Only (shock, horror) 95 Caymans in 2017 though. Total sales in 2017 were 72800+

Re: Cayman/Boxster future classics ?
So if it did happen based on those figures the best bet for the rarest classic would be the Cayman
I cannot remember where I read that Porsche were thinking of fazing them out now though

Re: Cayman/Boxster future classics ?
I would keep your eyes on low mileage first gen very early Boxsters that have not been played with at all, I think they will start to climb slowly in value as they are nearly 25 and already quite rare
Being the car that saved porsche I can see them gaining slowly

Re: Cayman/Boxster future classics ?
The first gen Boxsters have been on the future classics radar for the last 5 years, no movement yet.
It’s a difficult one, trying to speculative on future classics. The Cayman should have a chance, the four pot sales are a clear message of no to Porsche.
If i was in the market for a speculate Boxster, I reckon the last of the 6 pot 981’s will be the one to hang on for. Still in free fall, but they will firm up.
The Limited Edition Boxsters have never set the market alight, the Spyder and GTS may prove to be the ones to have if you have deep pockets.

Re: Cayman/Boxster future classics ?
This months 911 and Porsche World, I believe, is where they speculated that as there would be fewer shared parts between 911 and 718 models they would not be so cheap to produce, so might face the chop.
