My 987 Boxster 2.7 started making a strange noise today. It sounds a bit like theres a small hole in the exhaust somewhere - nothing too alarming, just louder than normal. Weirdly it gradually gets quieter with driving as the engine warms up until after a couple of minutes it seems to have stopped all together. It comes back as soon as the engine has cooled down a bit. Could possibly be to do with driving through some standing water today? No loss of performance or trouble starting though.
Any ideas?
