911 & Porsche World Picnic Sunday 15 Sept

Post by Paul Mabley »

Lovely event this one which TV region have attended several times, great spread of cars with the VW crowd there too. Country park location and one for all the family, relax and take a picnic in the grounds.

Discussed at the Southern BBQ today it would be great to get multi region attendance to this one, details below:

I am planning to be there, unless it's really wet. Last year was a complete washout. The weather forecast at the moment is dry and cloudy.

Sadly the weather put a spanner in the works for this event today.
I could get there until 1pm today and it was pretty forty by then. By all accounts it was only a third full at it's best.

Must have just missed you Jason. We were there with both 911s from 10.45 to around 1.15, by which time more than half the Porsches had left. We did bump into Andy Cremona though.
My rides: 02 Boxster S - perfect in many ways although mine has been likened to Trigger's Broom; 1988 911 3.2 Sport - so much feel and character, a challenge to drive well, a flawed diamond in many ways, but every journey is an occasion

When we finished rugby training at midday, it got grim. It was decided that an afternoon would be better spent with a fire, a couple of drinks and a roast chicken!

Maybe next year!
