March 2013 Scottish monthly
Meeting minutes.
A good turnout for this month’s meeting 17 bodies and 4 porkers in the car park on a chilly March still very much winter evening. A particular welcome to Tony Kopscht a new member visiting the club for the first time and the proud owner of a 944 Turbo, so from everyone Tony a very warm welcome to the club. Also along this evening was Graham Morrison and it was good to see Graham looking well and his usual chirpy self(thanks for the Porsche T-Shirt Graham)
First and foremost this evening congratulations are in order to James McLauchlan on his appointment of ARO East Of Scotland. James a long serving member takes up the role with immediate effect and has already put together an excellent spring weekend full of great content.
Next the diary of events for the region is now confirmed with a slight amendment (will resend amended via email and website) anyone wishing to attend any of the Scottish region’s events etc please contact myself ASAP with your full details i.e. car model reg no etc etc. James has gone over the spring weekend in good detail tonight and the schedule for the weekend has been circulated for everyone’s attention.
Tax disc holders and car stickers with the club logo have been handed out at the last two club meetings and I have sent via post to those members who are unable to travel to the monthly meets to whom requested them. If you wish your Tax and stickers please forward an email to myself confirming you wish them to be sent via post and I will email you back with address details etc.
A reminder to all members that the Scottish region will have a text reminder service to which details of up and coming events will be text to those members that have emailed me to confirm they wish to be part of this service. This will be a couple of texts a month nothing more than that to remind you that a region event is within the next week or so and is just a reminder. Many have emailed me wanting to be part of this service and those have been added to the text database already. We have the group email list and the national website to keep everyone informed to what the region is up to so just another form of keeping everyone up to date. If you wish to be part of the text service then please email myself with your details.
I will soon be circulating details of a 1972 911 T which is situated in South Queensferry, it has been garaged since 1999 and the owner has sadly passed away in recent times and therefore a friend will be selling the car to which full details will be to follow regarding the car. Also I will be going to visit a 924 Turbo in the Scottish borders within the next week or so and that has also been sitting for sometime garaged up and will be for sale also. So anyone contemplating a project will soon have the opportunity to do so. I will circulate via a group email and place both cars on the national website for everyone to have a look at.
