Looks on the surface like a really well put together car
Clean it, wax it, love it, ENJOY it... then fix it

So how long did you wait after that before you jumped in the car and shot over the pennines? Looks nice by the way.

Shhhss .....I'm waiting 'til she's out for the day, then she won't know I've gone. This is also complicated by the fact that 3 of us in TIPEC NW are planning to build a 944 track car..... She thinks our driveway is going to turn into a Porsche used car lot

Potentially i'm not so sure.

A good C2 is commanding high teens + now and for someone who wants one to track and would do a lot of the work already done (cage, suspension, seats, RS style door trims etc ) this is a well priced car. Clearly if you want it back more to standard it's not.

If I hadn't just thrown a load of wedge at my 968 i'd be very tempted.

Me too. I would certainly have a good look at it. If it is as good as it looks in the ad I would be very tempted.

For a track car why would you start with a top dollar road example? surely you would get your hands on a cat D or worse, with decent mechanicals and go from there I don't think there should always be a correlation between the two. After all you can get a scruffiesh 993 for that money? :D

If your pockets are deep enough what's not to like? Somewhat nicer than some 'cat D' can of worms, especially if you're after a turn-key racer. Great fun for track days and Sundays in the 'Dales .

Indeed.

Even if you could pick up a CAT D etc:

Weld in Cage bought and fitted: £2k
Corbeau's/runners etc £1k
Harness/Steering wheel - £300
Bilstein bought, fitted and set up, minimum £2.5k
Strut Brace/Door Trims £500

So even before other work, stripping it, extinguishers etc etc £6k plus........

Sure if you are after a turnkey racer, and of course if you have deep pockets.....................but there are the majority who's pockets are substantially shallower, and quite enjoy a project. Horses, as they say, for courses

I'd guess that the OP would be looking at cars within his personal budget. The car in the link would fit within that budget, hence the question - what does anyone think of that specific car? Don't think he's after a 'project'.

Tony - it's got to be worth a trip over the Pennines even if it's just to satisfy your curiosity! Pick me up en-route and I'll not tell Joyce...
