I've had a PM conversation with Zola & suggested either BBA Reman or The ECU Doctor.

Hello Everyone,

Right a update for everyone.

Yesterday morning i had Derrick round again looking into this non start issue and after getting the ecu back from the doctor and getting some more advice from him and that great bloke Derrick on the job we got her started.

So in the end i replaced.

Battery.
Both Flywheel Sensors
DME Relays
Coil
Rotor Arm
Dizzy Cap
ECU Repaired
Fuses Repalced

And found it was a friend of a friend who took the rotor arm off pulled a little too hard and moved the dizzy and put the plugs a step out,so Derrick sorted that and now running as sweet as a nut ........

Think i did not help getting a number of people working on the car,all doing there bit then with Derrick having to back track all of it was not good ..... next time ill just stick to the same person DERRICK.

Glad you eventually got it sorted!!

I agree with you too many folks on the job usually makes for difficult times, stick with the one you have confidence with.......... it always works.

Thank god it is running this was beginning to become a drama longer than the Archers!
So was the ECU knackered or was it just the rotor positioning issue?

Umm which echoes what I say to everyone, don't go in haphazard be methodical & work through the possibilities. Otherwise it costs money & you can add to the problems rather than fix them.

Jim,

Derrick (Zola1) went back to the start and worked forward by checking and talking to friends who have worked on the 911 and get it going by eliminating as he/we went :D

Glad your running in time for Summer!! :D Wrong firing order! Actually easily done but it goes to show you can't trust the guy who went before you. Now you need to get out there & blow the cobwebs off it! :alien:

Right here we go again :(

Thought id go start the 911 up let it run for a little bit then move out the garage turn round and put back in ...... but no engine runs sweet all oil pressures ok etc but when go to select a gear it a no go ... you can play a tune on it now .... think the clutch release bears has got stuck :x turned off and shut the garage door again

Check the hydraulics works first.

Try selecting first gear, foot depressed on the clutch and handbrake/footbrake fully on, and start it up, this often works on a stuck clutch.

If it stalls select reverse and try again, forward / reverse etc, until it frees up.

Be sure there are NO obstructions to the car's movement!! like your garage.
