My tickets have arrived, but nowhere does it tell me that I have infield parking..they look like regular weekend tickets to me (even though I used the TIPEC BOGOF code).

I was expecting some sort of ticket to put in the dash so that the organisers knew I was heading infield.

Will I need anything special to get infield, or just drive in confidently hoping the organisers will let me in?

I got a "Car Clubs - B" window sticker with mine. I don't think you'll get to the infield without one.

Damn. Not got that. I'll have to phone them and find out what's going on.....grrrrrr. If I drive all the way to Silverstone and they make me park in a normal car park I shall be furious* :angry4: :angry5:

*the reason I drive a 993 is because I went to last year's Classic as a non-porsche owner, walked through the PCGB area and said "Next year, I'm going to park up here in my own 993". I *have* to park infield in order to achieve a personal target of mine...can't believe that the lack of sticker will prevent this happening!!

EDIT: Phoned See (the ticketing company) this morning, and they've just phoned me back to say that they've posted a sticker to me first class, so should have it for the weekend!

So I'll see you on Saturday!! :P

You guys may be right but I don't think so, it would help if the Goose map was to scale. Here's a google map http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/309 ... ?service=0

I thought the PCGB area was hidden behind a hedge last year, more bottom left when you zoom into the aerial shot. Zone D looks like it's between the two infield roundabouts by the long straight that links both sides of the track?

Either way we've got a great display of cars.

I have just spoken to Sean who is there today. Our area is described as massive and on grass.

To get to the TIPEC area then follow the below

GO over the first infield bridge

Head over first roundabout then

Turn immediately right and then first left

We are next to the MX 5 club..if you dont see TIPEC....which I am sure you will.
996 TT X50 Aerokit Seal Grey
'Flossy' the 71 VW campervan
Wilson the 60 Split screen
Morris the 58 Split screen in 'shed' state
Wilma the Karmann 70's beetle
Jag x type motorway slogger
Nasty 206 pug thing - but great for trashing around in

Massive??!! Cool. I remember a few years back when PCGB bought hundreds of cars and TIPEC had about five. I said to myself "If I ever buy a Porsche, TIPEC is the one for me!".

And here I am, two years later, with my own car in that display, and it's going to be massive!!

Driving a black 993, I'd love to have a photo of it between a black 964 and black 996!

Hopefully we can do some sort of sorting by model or colour as we're on display to the rest of the world...need to make it look smart! Sean said he would try, and if we have a big area, that implies there will be quite a few of us (areas were defined by ticket sales IIRC).

I'm aiming to be there around 9.30am tomorrow so I can park up and then watch the sub-2 litre touring car race at 10.10am!

See you guys tomorrow!

Well there wont be a shortage of 993s i think !! Clearly these need to be at the front.........although that means cleaning it which is not in my plan today.

Mine was clean but it's just been sat outside at work in a heavy rainstorm, hence will no doubt need a bit of Meguiar's Quick Detailer applied once I get infield tomorrow!

Absolutely right to put the 993s at the front  just keep the WBs separate..don't want NB to look all skinny and not as pretty :D

Was there yesterday, great day - I feel Silverstone Classic is pretty much the event of the year in the classic car calendar. Splendid that the weather held and a large number of Porsches throughout the circuit, always pleasing to the eye.

It always amazes me how millions of pounds worth of cars are parked up (not just Porsches) without barriers for the public to drool over. A testament to the owners, who aren't too precious about them, and want them to be enjoyed. Shows the very positive side of car clubs.

Amusing conversation overheard - Joe Public asking someone at (I think) the MG Owners Club if ownership levels had declined since the introduction of the scrappage scheme..... I think I'd of headbutted anyone who asked me that question.

Other amusing thing I heard (but not at SC) was the guy who told me he bought a Fiat X19 because it "looks just like a Lancia Stratos".

Only regret is having to leave early to go home and let the dog out...
