Flat spot sorted...........finally

Post by fury964 »

Hurrah. It's done. Bloody O2 sensor. I now have my full rev range back again now that I have unplugged it. When I fit my CAT bypass I'll put a new one in but untill then it can run without. Only problem now is that it hunts when idling (which it did as well as having the flat spot) and sometimes cuts out. I've cleaned the idle control valve and that hasn't done anything, so I will wait untill my CAT bypass is in then have another play.

Nice one Rob.

Has the car got a MAF sensor, this would make it hunt. Try whipping it out and cleaning with electrical contact cleaner.

Hi Paul

I'll try giving the MAF/Air Flow Meter a clean as you suggest as it's an easy thing to do, but seeing as I have taken it out and put it back three or four times so far (having tried three AFMs trying to find the flat spot) I think that it is fairly clean anyway.

Any other ideas?
