TIPEC in the North West
Just a quick 'heads up': The NW Region pages on the main web-site have been updated a little. We've got the Haigh Hall German Classic Car Show coming up and our RO reckons he's tracked down a genuine '73 2.7RS that may be joining us on our pitch...
Also, the date has been fixed for our annual concours and we're taking entries now.
There's even talk of a slot-car evening too!

Re: TIPEC in the North West
Just got back from the German Classic Car Show at Haigh Hall Wigan. Just wanted to say a big thanks to the other TIPEC members for making me feel really welcome. First time meeting fellow NW members, great bunch.
Looking forward to future meets.
Cheers
Ian

...and TIPEC NW won 'Best Club Display'!
Some 18 cars on show and I wouldn't be surprised if the event shelter got some envious looks...
Welcome Ian - I wasn't able to be at Haigh Hall today, but I think we met briefly at Hatton back in May. Looking forward to seeing your new P car at one of our club meets.
Richard.

Not used to the NW region not being at the top of the Gruppe North section of the forum so figured that I ought to bump this thread to the top, ha ha. By the way, the NW page on the main web-site has been updated too!

Hi Richard. Sounds like you had a good time in Germany and the weather looked better than it did here.RichardKS wrote:Not used to the NW region not being at the top of the Gruppe North section of the forum so figured that I ought to bump this thread to the top, ha ha. I've just been in the loft to see what was around for the 5th October:
Mind you none of them have been used in over 25 years so no idea whether they actually work or not. Although the trucks were pretty useless when they were new.

Marc - 2 things:
If you're anywhere near my garage on the 5th you're welcome to join in.
Have you seen how much money some old Scalextric stuff fetches on Ebay???!!!

Oh, and a third thing: Yep, German weather was good.

Re: TIPEC in the North West
There's a brief report about the NW Scalextric evening on the main web-site if anyone is interested.
We're also trying to whip up some interest in the club's Blyton Park track day which is scheduled for next April. Me and Diane are booked on, as is 'Scalextric Ace' Simon. If it appeals to anyone in the NW, feel free to contact me - we're planning to make it a bit of a

Where are you thinking of staying? Plenty of options in the area. Put a post in the main thread and we can all try and hook up the night before.RichardKS wrote:

Re: TIPEC in the North West
Just a quick heads-up: there's an impromptu event listed on the NW page of the main web-site - 21st October, Trough of Bowland drive out followed by lunch. See main page for details.

Quiz night looms close now. Andy tells me he's blagged some top prizes courtesy of both Bolton and Wilmslow Porsche Centres. Brush up on yer general knowledge and read the TIPEC NW pages for your chance to win at The Dressers Arms.

Hi Richard, thanks for organising the questions last night and to Andy for sorting out the prizes. Good fun. Marc
