Targa vinyl roof faded

My targa roof is fine and water tight but the exterior finish is a little faded. Can anyone recommend anything to bring back the black glossy shine to the exterior roof vinyl?

Back in the the early '80s when I was driving my Triumph Spitfire I used to use shoe polish on the hood. Does an excellent job.

You can also use it to bring life back into faded plastic bumper trims etc.

If you watch the Wheeler Dealers on the 911 targa, Edd China uses something on the roof to refinish it, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. Knowing Discovery Channel it'll be repeated this week-end

The roof item starts at about 4 minutes, but I couldn't help but watch the whole episode.

For anything "Black" - tyres/trim/rear/front spoiler etc. I find Auto Glym Bumper care is very useful.

Saw the roof today and looked great (whilst it was still on) today at Silverstone, shoe polish did the trick
