Visit to North Yorkshire Motor Museum - Sunday 15th May

Post by ben944 »

Hi All,

I've organised a visit to the North Yorkshire Motor Museum for Sunday 15th May. I need a minimum of 8 people to make this trip happen. I'm throwing this trip open to other regions who might be interested and would also like to attend.

Most of the exhibits are up for sale and are therefore constantly changing. We can also have a look at any cars undergoing restoration whilst we are there. Please visit http://www.nymm.co.uk/ for more details about the museum.

The cost is £1/person as we are part of a car club. The opening hours on a Sunday are 11am to 4pm. As it's not to far from the coast, perhaps we could finish the day in Scarborough with fish and chips.

Please PM me if you're interested in attending this event.

All the best,

Ben :bounce:

Hi All,

Sunday is fast approaching with our regional visit to NYMM. The museum opens at 11am. The location of the museum can be found here: http://www.mathewsons.co.uk/finding_us.htm

Ed Pierce and John Stubbs are meeting at the Highway Man on the A64 at 09.30 if anyone wants to meet them for a bacon buttie. Ed and John are planning on taking the scenic route via Castle Howard up to NYMM. They will be departing from the Highway Man around 10.15. The Highway Man is located just after Hopgrove roundabout (where the A64 goes down to a
single carriage way).

Otherwise, I'll see you at the museum at 11am. Please bear in mind the A64 can become very busy on Sunday's, particularly at the Hopgrove roundabout. Be sure to leave plenty of time to arrive in good time at the museum. Entry to the museum is £1 for club members. Please bring
your TIPEC club cards with you (if you can find them!).

Everyone is more than welcome to come along if you have not already expressed a wish to do so. After the museum visit, I've been informed there's a good pub across the road doing Sunday dinners, or we're not to far off Scarborough for fish and chips.

Hi John,

I think we all had a good day. We managed 6 folks altogther. Had a good look round the musuem and then over the road to the pub for Sunday dinner.

Unfortunately/fortunately (depends on your perspective), some of the exhibits are for sale. I got rather smitten on this:

And he was even negotiable on price. Needs a few cosmetic bits and pieces doing but looked good. It's a shame I'm broke. :(

Ha ha Dave. And you've got the pictures to prove it. Just don't send 'em to the missus! I can't afford a divorce.

Speaking of pictures, I'll get some posted up asap.
