RE-lOCATING 911SC OIL COOLER

Post by LORDON »

Hi all, (2nd attempt at posting this!)

Having Recently "Backdated" my 911SC, and removed the plastic sills in the process , the oil lines to the front oil cooler are now visible. (would post pic, but dont know how). Its not a track car, and this is England not Florida, so oil temp is not so critical I think. I would like to re-locate the existing cooler, or a new cooler to the rear wheel arch, or somewhere at the rear of the car. Would like to hear from anyone with experience with this or any ideas/comments that members may have.

Thanks
Don

Hi No experience of moving the cooler, but I would imagine that you would then have to add weight to the front to compensate for it

911's have too much weight in the rear as it is, I would think that one of the reasons for the cooler in the front is to add some weight there.

IIRC early 911s had a 32 lb weight bolted to the front bumper
