Hi,
I've just bought the car and surprise surprise the air con seems to work but is not cold!!
Is it safe just to vacuum and then regas the system bearing in mind the R12 gas that may be there from when the car was new.
Has anyone any experience running these cars with the modern gas and any tips to pas on to avoid any expensive mistakes?
Also any recommendations on trustworthy garages in north Notts?

I'd find a good car air-con company not necessarily a garage, R12 can be replaced by R134a but it isn't straight forward & will at least require new o ring seals, dryer & condenser. Also bare in mind that this will never be a fantastic a/c system.

Thanks for the useful tips - i'll be regassing it and crossing my fingers. At least it will show where the leaks are!!
I'll not be taking the system off just yet as i'm just a masochist who likes to see everything Dr Porsche put on the car in working condition.
