Hi All,
I have noticed blue smoke from my 1988 3.2 s when it has not been used for a few days (4 or more), if I use it everyday, there is no blue smoke.
The car drives good, oil pressure good and not noticable problems, i know blue smoke is usually a valve or seal problem, but the engine had a rebuild only 50k ago and its has a good service history.
Do I leave it, or is it best to have it checked out?
I live in staffordshire and I am having trouble finding a local (ish) independant porsche garage.
Thanks
James

Re: Blue smoke
Leave it, dont worry.
Sounds like a worn valve.
My car does this, if i had a 3k spare id think about having a top end rebuild.
Unit 911, good garage.

Re: Blue smoke
Don't worry totally normal on this engine , as long as its not excessive, little oil sits in the barrels runs past the rings if the motor stands for some time, even happens on newer low milage motors

Re: Blue smoke
Thats normal don't worry about it unless it were to do it on every start up and it lasting more than 20 seconds
