Update: the xenons are fitted and the difference is clear, so many thanks for the aceparts.com lead. Also, I must retract the previous criticism of the handling and heap the blame on the useless bl**dy OPC for failing to check the tyre pressures prior to delivery. They were all down by 3 to 4 psi & putting them at their recommended pressures (32F and 39R, interestingly) has made all the understeer go away and a whole new level of performance has been reached. There will be words with the OPC come Monday

I'm off to scare the yokels in Wiltshire tomorrow - where's the <PiGdrive> icon when you need it?

Interesting pressures, mine are 36 and 44 so yours are much lower. I assume the lower pressures are due to the much lower unsprung weight of the ceramic brakes?

I don't think so - the GT3 owners manual doesn't make the distinction. The wheels are wider 11J & 8.5J and so are the tyres 295/30 x 18 & 235/40 X 18 Michelin PS N2's, so I assume it's due to that. The ceramics are supposed to save around 5 kilos a corner I believe. It certainly feels different to a steel disk GT3.

Good fun in Wiltshire today, but it did throw up a couple of concerns.

Spectacular complete failure of the ABS after several emergency stops from 60ish in rapid succession - the brakes didn't feel quite right prior to this, hence the emergency stops which provoked major ABS action on a completely dry road - OK, the surface wasn't "billiard table" smooth but I wasn't happy with the extreme over-reaction from the ABS. Had a tyre-smoking stop from about 45 after the ABS failure due to total lockup of the rears, which was fun but might not have been if the road hadn't been clear. Turned the engine off & restarted - ABS fault cleared & the brakes back to normal.

At speed on bumpy country A & B roads, the front end seems just a little too lively & it's a bit too "darty" on the motorway to be at all relaxing - I think a 4 wheel alignment & suspension setup is fairly imminent

ABS sounds strange, worth getting checked out - don't want this happening after a few big brakings on a track.

I'm sure the rest of it you will just get used to - I remember mine used to feel like this when I first got it, maybe it's a bigger difference for you without the weight of the diff in the front.

A darty feel is normally either too much toe in or a lot of negative camber. It maybe inherent or some one may have had it set up like that. A geometry check should confirm.
ABS fault sounds interesting!! Be interesting to see what OPC find,

I took 1psi out of the front tyres (so now at 31psi) and it has transformed the car - much less darty now. It's booked in to JZ Machtech in a couple of weeks for a full fast road / trackday setup, so that will probably help a lot.
