Boxster hard top fitting kit

Hello, can anyone tell me how to tell if my Boxster (986) has the hard top fitting kit installed? And if its not got one, where I can buy one from & price? :?: Thanks in advance, Dave. :bounce:

Hi Dave,

Hard top fitting kit only consists of two insert on the car body side if I remember correctly. If you open your cab roof fully and look just behind the door shut (B-post) from above you will see a black plastic cap about the size of a ten pence piece, if you poke it out you will have either an empty hole or a key way insert fitted and secured via an allen key pinch bolt. If it's an empty hole you will need to buy a pair of inserts from Porsche approximately £40 +vat for a pair. If you are buying a second hand or after market hard top make sure it has all 3 catch fitted, some after market ones don't have the front center catch which means swopping it from your soft top which would be a bit of a pain I would imagine!
