Hello,
I have noticed two factory fitted switches on my 87 911 just to the left of the steering wheel mounted under the clocks on the underside of the dash.
Can someone tell me what they are supposed to do?
Thanks
Neil

One is for changing the electric mirror adjustment and the other is for the high pressure screen wash. (It is in mine). Check under the hood you should have a second screen wash bottle up towards the bulkhead on the fuse box side which supports the high intensity wash( only works when headlights on)

There should be two switches on the face of the dashboard - one for the rear wiper, if one is fitted, and one for the "intensive wash".grbspeedster wrote:One is for changing the electric mirror adjustment and the other is for the high pressure screen wash. The two switches underneath are the "door mirror selector switch" and the one under the clock is - you've guessed it - the "clock adjustment switch".

As a picture's worth a thousand words, here is what the switches do in my 964:grbspeedster wrote:on my 89 Speedster you adjust the clock by the centre spindle, must have changed on the 964

and

I am not sure if this is the same in older or newer models.
Hope this helps

indeed. every time i climb in to my 964 I am amazed that porsche might have employed 15 different people to design and place 15 different switches and controls, but done everything in their power to stop any form of communication between them during the design process. some of them ought to overlap really.

no, someone sneezed with a mouthful of boiled sweets and the switches were placed where they landed
