SE Meet on Wednesday and 944's

Hello all,

I have finally made my brother see the light and he is interested in a 944 rather than the french rubbish he has been driving.

I was wondering if there were any 944 owners going to the SE meet in Crawley on Wednesday night who would be willing to show him their car and maybe take him for a drive to demonstrate the performance etc.

I know of at least one 944 owner we can call. Ian is the lucky owner of Fury964's old 944. I'll ask Rob to give him a call and will post a reply later on here.

Ian will be there on Wednesday and is happy to take your brother for a spin. Not sure if I will be there yet, work may this once get in the way.

No sooner said than done! Rob has spoken to Ian Watkins who will be there on Wednesday evening and is more than happy to take him for a drive out in his 944.

Hopefully Rob will be there as well and he knows a bit about 944s as well.

What's your brothers name? We'll keep an eye open for him. He can come and say hi to me as I'm one of the few women there (often the only woman).

Good to see you and Scott last night. I hope that Rob, Ian and the others were able to give you loads of information about the 944. It was a busy night, so sorry if we weren't able to give you loads of time.

Good luck with the search for the right car, don't hesitate to post if you have any more queries. We might be able to dig out the 944 buyers guide that Rob mentioned last night, if so I'll mail you.

Hope we see you both again soon and we get to see the 944 when it arrives.

Damn Forgot it was on. I only live around the corner and would have happily soaked up all the 944 info I could (only had it a few weeks). Will have to attend the next one.

Neil - if you guys want to look around (a good one) during the day at any point, your more than welcome to pop over and have a look. It's not for sale though, but will give you a good idea what to look out for (I saw 17 before choosing this one!)

Sorry for the late response it was hectic at work and spent the weekend doing car things, well the autosport and pistonheads show.

Thanks to Rachel, Rob and Ian for the info and the look/drive of the 944 it was very helpful wish I had joined the club before buying my 911 would have saved a lot of time!

Well Scott has decided to start looking for one seriously so I am sure there will be many question coming up soon!

Neil - that would be cool! Where are you and what year model is the car?

Oh well back to work tomorrow!

I'm in a village called crawley down just outside of east grinstead (so about 20-25 mins up the A22 from uckfield). My 944 is a 1989 S2. The kettle is always on
