Strange tyre problem, anyone experienced this?

Today I uncovered the 996 that I bought before xmas to replace the battery (now fully charged). I started the car, I enjoyed the alarm not going off as I'd already placed the key in the ignition before I attached the battery disconnect handle to the terminal (living in London I don't get to use the car as much as I'd like).

The car had been sitting for two weeks. It started first time. "Great" I thought. I turned the ignition off and went back to collect the wife. Looking back at the car I noticed that the front driver's side tyre looked flat. Back to the car: yes, flat as a pancake. Check the other tyres. The other front tyre is also flat. The two rear tyres were new as part of the deal of buying the car, and were just fine.

This seems really odd. I've never in 25 years had two flats at the same time. Both tyres display no obvious signs of damage, and the car is parked in an underground car park accessible only by residents, so oiks slashing the tyres or letting the sir out seems unlikely at best.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Alloys cracked? Faulty valves? It seems really unlikely that I would have picked up slow punctures on BOTH front tyres during the last run of the car...

I've had corrosion in the lacquer between the tyre and rim cause this in the past could have been worsened when changing tyres.

Oddly enough had it just recently with mine after about 6 weeks parked up. Both offside really soft but not completely flat, Parked in my garage so no danger of any outside involvement, my only conclusion was moisture in the valve. Tightened the valve pumped up and all ok, very weird a bit like those wardrobe gremlins that creep in unseen and make your shirt collars smaller

When you say "tightened the valve" - do you mean screwing the the valve cap on more tightly, or something else?

No the bit you push in to release air, that is screwed into the valve stem. any tyre place or good bike shop will have the little tool

actually a very small flat blade screw driver should do the trick.
That's what i use to remove them
