Supersport

Post by vipergts »

Hi I read here somewhere that there were 21 Coupes for the UK but numbers on http://www.turbo-look.de/911-en.php show quite a few more.

Which information is correct?

Many Thanks

The figures look about right, there were actually 64 UK C16 Speedsters.

The Supersports are rare cars and a lot have been sold overseas :(

Hi Sean
Lee here, friend of Mr D a fellow Speedster owner that you know well, we all shot off to Le Mans if you recall.....Hope you're well and didn't realised you'd moved to these parts??

Which numbers do you refer to as looking correct?

Hi Lee

All those production numbers look pretty accurate.

I can't believe it is 7 years since we were all at Le Mans

Porsche used to supply this information, they even break it down by colour. It might be worth dropping them a note.

I will look in my reference books and see if I can find production numbers. I seem to recall an article saying that numbers were low but that was quoting a model year.

These figures are from Porsche Club GB Porsche post Aug 2010

From 1984 -89 ------- MY 1987-89 Official Supersports

Coupe 34 ----- Coupe 21

Targa 17 ----- Targa 14

Cabby 23 ------ Cabby 18

Total 74 ----- Total 53

These are UK imports and does not include the Speedster which have different chassis/engine numbers

Hope that helps

I think it's fairly evident that they are rare.

Anyway I bought the car I was dribbling over and here she is.

Lovely looking cars.

I went through a long period of not liking this model but all of a sudden I like them more than ever. I think they've come into their own now.
