We still have some spaces on our exclusive campsite, a number of members have already taken advantage and booked. If you have ever thought of attending Le Mans then this is the way to experience the event in safety knowing that your pride and joy will be looked after in a fenced and secure area.

Porsche have a factory team for the first time in many years with a brace of 991 RSR`s and what better place to watch them trackside on the Porsche Curves with a pint of real ale, chilled lager or glass of wine.

We will be attending the AGM next week so please take the opportunity to talk to us about Le Mans and what we are able to offer.

For those members who have booked the Village on The Curves we are unlikely to be in a position to send out the ticket packs before the end of May as the Agents have not yet received them from the ACO.

Unfortunately those people who purchased tickets directly from the ACO recived them some time ago, we will be advising members in an email shortly with a reminder that any meal packages should also be booked to take advantage of the discount being offered.

We will also be sending a note about the diversion in operation in Rouen.

If any member would like to to take a pitch on the Village on The Curves we do have a few spaces left or of you would like any further information contact at joy@lycianevents.com or telephone 01245 283882.

Another reminder that we do have an open day on the Friday before the race so any member who would like to visit us please come along and sample the facilities and the Cafe Ambio who will be serving real ale and wine along with french lager together with a selection of food.

Think i'm sorted for this, but just a few quick questions; would it be easier to pay for any fuel with cash or by card, also how much should I be looking at taking with me? Any other bits of info etc. would be much appreciated (first trip to Le Mans and driving abroad etc.).

If you stick to Motorways then fuel is available both on card and cash..
Off the motorways we found that many of the stations are card only!!

There are plenty of Petrol stations around Lemans to fill up with before returning.
Download the Club Arnage guide as it gives you some valuable information.

Remember a FM radio, as radio Lemans is invaluable in keeping up to date with what's going on throughout the race!

For me the road trip is a much a part as the race, if you have the time, take the long way down and enjoy the other car enthusiasts on the route- the French love to see sports cars- the Police love to see them driven too fast even more so! 130kph dry with headlamps on.
If you go as a group of cars it does add to the weekend. All other European driving rules apply, which I'm sure you have sorted...

Realise where the events happen away from the circuit- the concerts, pitwalks, drivers parade, whilst these aren't the highlights for some - they do all add to the overall experience and helps you realise why its the greatest race on Earth :D
Prices are higher than normal, £5 for a cold beer etc.. food is all £10 etc you know your budget so work it out from there...
