The south west forum is organising two large PH gatherings in aid of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, a service some of us may one day need. It should be a good day out to meet fellow enthusiasts in the beautiful grounds of two historic Dorset homes.

Both will feature a charity raffle with great prizes, plus an enjoyable, spirited drive through the Dorset countryside.

All PHers are welcome whatever you drive and wherever you come from, but obviously it is preferred that you bring your performance car.

We already have a great variety of cars attending, but more is always better. Come and have a good chat about cars, win a prize and then put your foot down with Lamborghinis and TVRs - all whilst raising money for the charity!

The Events

The Raleigh Rally - Sunday 21st June
Being held at Sherborne Castle from 10.30am. Admission is £2.50 per person.

Motors at the Manor - Sunday 19th July
Being held at Kingston Lacy Estate from 10.30am. Admission is £7.50 per car so bringing your family makes sense.

Full Details / Maps / List of Cars

Click here for the PH thread >

To Attend

All are welcome but PLEASE go to the thread above and tell us which dates you are hoping to attend, so that we can keep track of numbers and ensure everyone knows what cool cars will be arriving!

Please do not just turn up on the day as you will be charged full admission - you need to download and print the admission pass that is available via the link on the thread above.

If you know anyone who may be interested, please consider forwarding the details to them.

Thanks.

Ah, so you've paid your membership at last then, Brett?

We do have something arranged - http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4301. As you know. Because you're coming on it

Perhaps you'd like to volunteer to organise us attending the above?

Hi :)

Not much point in paying membership...no RO = no local group....

I will happily donate stuff and raffle prizes when or IF we ever have any events this year...like a Fun day ?

All the best Brett :)

Hi :)

You mean the sort of "freeloader" who donates to EVERY TIPEC event even though not a member....

Maybe instead of unwarranted sarcasm , your time would be better used finding an RO for this region....

All the best Brett :)

Brett's right - Gordon's prolonged absence isn't good for the region. We've tried to badger him back but we've had no luck so far. I've tried to organise a few things to keep the region going, but I don't have the time to do the sort of job Gordon did. We need an RO who can do justice to the region Gordon built up.

The RO situation is not Sean's fault. In the hope that Gordon would return, I have in the past reassured the committee that he wanted to remain in the role, so you can blame me.
Please, let's not degrade this situation any further by taking cheap shots at each other.

Hi :)

Please do not misunderstand me...

I....WANT the region to work (whether I am a member or not), I am not the only non member who attends EVERY meeting,,,,

I just think that after the huge amount of effort that Gordon put into building the Region up , it is now disintegrating...

As a non member you may be correct that I should not have a say, but take my word the members are also not happy, if you do not believe me, ask them....

It will soon be a year since we had an RO....

If you want a prophecy from me....the Region will not last another year unless someone appoints an RO....

Which would be a huge shame :(

All the best Brett :)

What you did was quite correct but it's now time to move on.

There's no blame attached to anyone Jim, it's hardly your fault mate.

I know that Derek has been in touch and we've both tried Gordon without any success.

What you guys need to do down there is all get together and someone or a couple of you need to give it a go. If not the group will go back to how it was 2 years ago.

It's a shame because you have built up a good group and I enjoyed the funday last August.

I'm happy to help get things back on track, let me know what you need.

Hi :)

Would it be acceptable, albeit temporarily to have a "committee" of several people (both members and non members) to run the Region for the time being?

Its the only option that I personally can see that would work at the moment....

All the best Brett :)

There is no issue with a small committee running a region, but they do all need to be members.

Hi :)

Then it wont work as you don't have enough members who will agree to do it....

All the best Brett :)

Brethren

I have given thanks for the bountiful pleasure of Tipec meets and the Southern location where wondrous maidens serve the beer with really cute smiles.

I have this morning had the bishop (the real bishop) on the phone, complaining as usual about his lot (he even complains in pastoral letters about feeling put out going to church events!).

Let us consider carefully who we shall take as our role model.

Then let us give praise for the camaradie and nights of laughter we have shared in Southern Tipec meets where a significant number of non members or members from other clubs have contributed.

Let us not deny any fair maiden joining us, helping us, mopping our brows, or posing in photoshoots with us.

Equally, blessed be those who work, my thoughts are with them.

Let us not deny those whose mission is to serve, the precious opportunity to do so, and respect their reasons if they choose not to join the Club.

Let us do all we can to grow in flexibility and be an example to German controlled clubs that make up rules as they go along.

And one final meditation - since when did a group of friends call themselves a committee?

May the peace of the British way of doing things be upon all those who work or who seek such blessedness
