Hi

I have a 1998 R Boxster which i am trying to sell at the moment to raise money hopefully to purchase a 911

I have developed a fairly bad leak on the drivers side and could do with some suggestions or where to look or how to fix, as i dont really want to go to see my friendly dealer!!!

Any help, greatly appreciated

Have a good look and poke around the drains , they get blocked with cr$p and cause water to come into the car

are you sure its the roof and not the door membrane causing the fault

I only assume it is the roof

After a particularly rainy night the drivers side carpet was extremely wet - had to remove all the bits to dry it out

Thats why just looking for a bit of assistance or seeing if this is a common fault!

Hi there,

I have leaky boxsters in the past, which has been due to the scuttle drains being blocked and filling the heater unit with water that eventualy comes out of the footwell vents.

Simple to cure, remove the battery cover trim and the two side panel and firstly check for water in there, clean out any leaves etc..

then from under the front wheel arch you will see a round rubber flap this is the drain exit make sure this is clear,then pour water in the scuttle and check that it drains ok, (observe from under the arch, drain exit.).
