Definitely having a bad day

Changed my indicator stalk assembly yesterday, went well, steering wheel came off like a dream. But in the process I seem to have buggered up my Cobra 8510 immobilser as cannot now start the engine as immobiliser will not disengage. All works after changing the switch though, except the horn, unsure why at this stage and don't care, can't start the car. Thought it may be the battery, perhaps flat as i didn't disconnect during the job. Got mate round to jump start me but lid frozen shut and broke handle in process of opening, cable pulled through will rig something or replace nextr weekend. Fortunately not cable so able to open front lid. No luck with jump start or trickle charge and seems to be plenty of juice in battery. Any suggestions or similar experiences re the immobiliser?
I can't help thinking i may have a tired battery but then I use the car daily and it's generaly not a problem.
Any contributions accepted with thanks

I have just changed the stalk on my 3.2. If its the same as mine,
Horn check the earth on the switch.
Alarm try disconnecting the battery and refitting it.
Is the warning led flashing?

They look similar but unsure if teh same, imagine they are. I connected the spade adaptor back to the horn push when I re-assembled everything, didn't see an earth t oconnect as such. The light on the immobiliser is still flasing and was during the switch change as i didn't disconnect the battery, maybe i should. I tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes yesterday but when i re-connected it was still the same.flashing LED and immobilised. Will call the installers tomorrow and try to get some useful advice on getting it going.
thanks
Tony

Mine had an earth on the screw that holds the switch to the column
I did not disconnect the battery and Mine was fine also a cobra alarm,
Have you a spare fob? maybe its the battery in that.

I have 2 electronic keys and neither work and one had never been used until Saturday. Aparently there is a known problem with the electronic keys for my Cobra model and they may need soldering, however I don't think that is my problem. Have an installer coming out tomorrow to fix so let you know once it's done. By the way my immobiliser is seperate to my alarm, i had the Porsche Immobiliser removed a few years ago as it played up a lot.
Best Regards
Tony
