Fuzzy Steering

Hi Folks,
Just been out for a spirited drive in my 987 Cayman 2.7. On a straight I know well I wound her up to a healthy pace (#@! mph) but noticed a fuzzy feeling coming through the steering that I've never had before. It's recently had tyres all round. I always like Bridgestone Potenza. I've never had this sensation before with these tyres. I'm going to get the front re- balanced to see if that's the issue. Also I think the front bushes and maybe coffin arms need re-doing. The car is an 08 with 63k on the clock. Anyone else had any similar issues?

Problems like this are always frustrating. I fitted my 987 Boxster with Bridgestone's all around and it handled faultlessly and predictably, so in my opinion the tyre brand is unlikely to be the cause. Are the Bridgestone's you bought 'N' rated and are the sizes correct? Are the tyre pressures correct? Have you had a four wheel alignment check done? If the problem has only started since the new tyres were fitted thats a good place to start.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the info. Had front wheels rebalance and tyre pressures checked. Going to get a realinement done soon. Think bushes definitely need doing though as I can hear creaking when you push the front end down.

Creaking could be top mounts, roll over a low kerb slowly and you will hear them creak.

Creaking on my Boxster was a knackered coffin arm. So noisy it could be heard from outside the car whilst driving.
