I purchased a dark blue 993 in March this year. First registerrd in August 1994 it looks very like a Carrera S with a wide body back end and also big spoiler and big red turbo brake calipers. Got the third brake light and turbo front spoiler. Six speed manual. Definately looks and sounds the part, but from speaking to various folk I am now intrigued as to what exactly my vehicle was and is. The reg document say Carrera 2.No S mentioned. I have attached a pic for comments.

Looks nice, would suggest you get build code to decipher the build spec.Or can go to OPC and get full details of original build sheet, think it costs about £10
The red calipers could be a later addition as brakes may have been rebuilt in the past(several companies advertise powder coated calipers)

There are so many body variations and special orders and options, it certainly does look the part.

It's definately wide bodied, follow Geoff's advice and keep us all posted.

On the underside of your front boot is a sticker with various codes on it

Next to TYP / TYPE is two groups of three numbers

993 followed by three more

Go and have a look and tell me what it says

Should be 341 for a RHD 2S

Cant see any stickers. Only a vin sticker on the off side wing.

might also be at the front of your service book

The book is in the office. I will check tomorrow. Damn confusing. Keep getting told there were no S models prior to 1995. I have found a previous owners number in some of the stuff I have here so I m going to phone him tomorrow. I am now a man on a mission. !!

my guides don't show a 2S before 1997
4S was 1996

have you got the vin number and i can check the year etc from that

Also should have std black calipers and not Big Reds

But i wouldn't complain about having better brakes (assuming they're not just painted red)

Rear spoiler isn't from a 2s either, that has a split grille
Looks more like a C4s or a turbo

have you checked to see if it has front drive shafts ? you never know
Turn the wheels to full lock and get in there with a torch

I have spoken to Porsche and they will enlighten me when I fax then down a copy of the V5. Vin no WPOZZZ99ZRS3144007.

That Vin is definitely a 1994 coupe

No S models until 1996 so someone has had it converted,
Looks like they have used 4s/Turbo parts, so you may have the suspension too
would have cost a lot of money but does it make it worth 2S money ?
That is debatable

Paid low £20`s for the car so quite happy with what I have paid. Just want to put my mind at ease as to exactly what it s and who did it. 75k on the clock and the condition is excellent. Everythng working and the sound is just superb.
