Boxster lights help (pls)

Hi all. My dash keeps telling me, after indicating left, to 'Check left indicator' (or similar). The indicators seem to work fine - except an occasional rapid flashing on the dash when being used. I've checked the bulb seating etc. (the limit of my skill) and all looks fine. Wotsup?????? ['06 987.1]

I have had this in the past. Sometimes it has been slight corrosion on the bulb base on one it was some cheapy bulbs. Worth fishing the bulbs out & having a close look at the connection. Or swap them for new ones.

Hi
As Jim said ...I would change the bulbs... its usually a slight difference in wattage that causes the bulb sensor module to "think" that an indicator bulb has failed...
I would change them for new ones in pairs...back first then fronts if not cured...
928s do it as well lol... dont ask me how I know lol...
New rear bulbs on mine all cured....
All the best Brett

I finally got round to putting new bulbs in and checking the connections but with no joy. The indicators seem to work fine (according to the reflection in my garage) but the dash disagrees - throwing a warning message every time left indicator's used. Anyone got any suggestions except 'try only turning right'? Ta.

Hi
Go back to that side repeater thats not working with a voltmeter and see if it has 12 volts at the centre terminal that touches the MIDDLE of the bulb (when indicators are active with ignition on)
To test the earth that SHOULD be on side of bulb, easiest way is to get a length of wire and hold on bared end on SIDE of bulb and attach other end to any decent earth point on car....
Dont forget the bulb needs BOTH 12volt power AND a good earth....
Hope this helps
All the best Brett
