Door won't open from inside

I had to let my daughter out of the passenger side of the boxster tonight as the inner door handle stopped working.
The outer handle is fine and the window still drops when you pull the inner handle,
Common problem?

This might sound like a stupid question but did you pull it twice (1st pull unlocks, 2nd one opens & all this assuming your car locks doors when it goes above 5 kph). If not then more than likely one of the microswitches thats in there. Theres a guide listed on Pelican Parts Website below if its any help......

Thanks for that Chris.
The car does self lock at 5kph but I always press the dash button before I get out.
I had ruled out the micro switches as the window still drops when you pull the handle, but I will have a good poke around in there tomorrow, as I will be taking both doorcards off to sort out a leak too.
(and fix my broken mirror switch trim and the dipped beam bulb that's blown and the drivers seat motor that's also packed up this week!)

Just had a quick read of my manuals & in 101 Projects for your Boxster they mention a small plastic piece that breaks often (green arrow in photo) which is the bit that attatches to outside handle.

Great pic!
The outside handle is fine Chris, but I suspect the plastic part at the end of the Yellow arrow might be the culprit.

Door handle fixed. The cable had popped out of it's retaining clip,
so refitted it and secured with a cable tie just to make sure.

Also managed to cure my roof leak by window adjustment and mirror removal/refitting.

Took the carpet out as it was like a swimming pool in there!

While I was in there I regreased the shifter mech and cables and adjusted the handrake

before refitting everything bar the carpet. Got my 'broken' drivers seat fixed too by putting

the plug back in underneath.

The foam underneath the carpet is just soaked through, so it will stay in the garage until

it's dried out. Just hope it doesn't stink once dry.
