Hi,
I've managed to split the plastic rear window on my wife's 98 'Boxster :x . Can anyone recommend a repairer/or reliable company for a replacement?
I'm in Shrewsbury so anything local'ish would be good,
thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

There's a good place in Chessington but that's a bit of a trek from Shrewsbury

Yup mine was done by the Car Hood Warehouse in Chessington Surrey. Excellent job as it was fitted for the previous owner in 2010 & the rear window started to come apart last year. The CHW did it under the lifetime warranty with no questions asked. Damned good service.
It is worth asking around the trimmers in your area, some will redo windows, but unless it is 100% then it may not be worthwhile as the window is around £230 or so. A new hood for a 986 is £650ish or was when mine was done.
Yup just checked it is still the same price. http://www.carhood.com/porsche/

Just remembered they do have mobile fitters & also some places buy their hoods in from there, the MX5 has a CHW hood fitted by a local guy.

Try Dave Whitaker on 07917 284254. He is in Tamworth and his work for hoods, seats, carpets etc is top notch and good value too. He made a new roof for one of my 944s and did an excellent job.

Now might be the time to fit a glass rear window!
