My first 911 and about time - what do you reckon??

Post by Porkaparts »

Heres my pride and joy. I've had the 944 for 3 years and have just brought the 1980 911SC

You do have to love the mobile bbq on the back of those :D

Is that a saluki in the row behind your car in the show pics?

Sean

The 944 is an instant and steady, fast yet constant drive that i use three days a week for communiting without any problems (except a cracked distributor cap about a year ago).

The 911 needs cuddling into life, warming up and then steadily driving for 10 miles before she can be dropped a gear and then thraped with that unmistakeable noise from the rear that makes me smile every time i drive her.

The driving style is totally different with the 944 being able to drive and change gear through a corner with no risk of slipping but with the 911 you get that sense if you did this you would eventually get caught out, so its a get your speed, select your gear and steer through the corner, then when straight accellerate.

What do you think about the differences.

I did purposely buy similar colours. The 944 is nautic metallic and the 911 is pacific blue.

cheers

They both look awesome Elliot, is the 911 totally original or has it had a few cosmetic touch ups?

Cheers

Rich

The interior is original. It has had two new front wings. The engine has yet to have a rebuild - planned for this winter.

If you know anybody for the job please let me know.

Me and the mistress (WAR) will be at stamford classic car show on sunday-is anybody going.
