Latest European Tour

On Sunday we returned from our latest trip over the Channel to France and Germany.
Gary and Jo Wiln organised the trip for the 997 Register of PCGB, Haley and I have know them for years so we tagged along. The group consisted of three 997 Turbo's, 997 Targa 4S, our 996 Cab and an Audi RS6.

Our first destination was near Munster via the Vosages Mountains. The roads and the views were amazing, wide enough for you to drive at a decent pace. We had a good few days of driving and visiting the best of the tourist must do's.

The next leg of the trip took us to Boppard by the River Rhine via Stuttgart and the Porsche Museum. Again the roads in this area were perfect for stretching the legs on our Porsches. A visit to the Nurgburing for an open evening session, had another tick in the TDBYD list.

The last leg of the tour took us to Heimbach in the Eifel Mountain Region. Sadly the weather was wet, the roads around here were truly awesome. We all agreed we need to go back when it is dry. :bounce:

The 4S had a really good workout and it is the most fun I have had driving a Porsche in the 10+ years of owning one. When you have sat behind the Turbo's and watched them scamper off, it does make you wish that you owned one.

The organisation was first class, Gary's research of the areas really paid off. :) Thank you for a great week, both in and out of the car. :salute:

Sounds like a great trip. I'm glad to hear about the decent roads in Europe, I leave a week on Monday for a 9 day tour.

The Boss 944, the Pink Pig & the row of 917s are fantastic. Sean can you mail me a jpg of the Pink Pig on its own please. The bigger the shot the better.
I looked high & low for a 1/18 model of a Pink Pig & eventually found one. They normally fetch well over a £100  Mine was a bargain at £65  Just don't tell Becky :o

It was a great week and I think we were lucky with some good weather for the majority of the week.
My wife certainly enjoyed herself and there's a few photos on Haley and her grinning like chesire cats, a pleasure. :D
Really pleased that you enjoyed the experience in the car and the car showed how good they really are at doing this type of trip..
Like you the Eifel region on a dry day has my name written all over it :bounce:

A couple of movies from the trip..

Making our way across the top of the Vosges mountains towards Mulhouse... sorry about the music, but do note the German Porsche club coming the other way :D

A sunnier day as we transit across the Black Forest, wonderful flowing roads and a surprise detour...

A little insight into the views and class of the roads, taken on one of the more relaxed days :)
