Cayman boot space

I'd like to upgrade from my 968 to a Cayman, but one of the things holding me back (apart from the readies

) is the boot/luggage space. There's not a huge amount in the 968, but at least there's a useful amount of room for the missus and I to do a weekend in France, say.
Has anyone here previously owned a 944/968 and can comment on how the Cayman compares boot-space-wise...?
Thnx.

Not had a 968/944 but do have a Cayman S.
Front space is about the same size and capacity as a washing machine drum.
Rear section is very flat, soft bags in the lower setion behind the engine and only flat items on top

Have both - the Cayman has less overall space. Also it's space is more suited to soft bags as said.
Having said this though I had an S2000 before this and the Cayman has way more than that.
Basically it would do me and the woman for a weekend away.

Thanks for the replies, rsmithinfo and Baz (you don't deserve your name!

)
That makes the choice all the harder to make...

I know this is a thread resurrection, but just to add my 2p worth...
While the boot space in the Cayman is suited to soft luggage, I have found that the available space to be "vast".
The wife and I did a 3 week trip to Spain a couple of years back and the boots were big enough for the task:
Clothing for 2: We took about a week's worth of clothes each and washed as needed.
2 Full Face Crash Helmets : Did a track day at Guadix
25 Bottles of Wine : We stopped in the Rioja region on the way back and loaded up.
Computer/Cameras/Video/etc to keep me entertained while on the road and track.
As long as you pack/think with care, you should be fine
