Just got back from the US so might be a tad sleepy tomorrow however the adrenaline will help with that!! However, won't be there at o crack sparrow 'cos I don't think that I'll be able to get up!! Peter Mack (white 911) will hold things together - he's got the list. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow...

Well, the engine did hold together, as did everyone else's. All who wanted a run got one, plus a few got extra goes to sort out issues, so a big thank you to all who turned up, to Triton who performed faultlessly throughout the day, to Gordon and Jon Mitchell who gave up time and money to put on the BBQ. So, all in all, it turned out to be a great day, with plenty of socialising and technical ponderings. If I'm totally honest, I would admit that I (amongst others) was a bit confused by some of the readings from the Dyno Dynamics RR, even though it was in 'shoot out' mode. There may be some more news to come on that front so I'll let you know. What it did do, however, was give a great comparison between the cars that were there yesterday, if not with other similar days. I did not take a camera however loads did, so I expect some pics to appear shortly. Nick Smith video'ed lots of the runs and is proposing to post them on You Tube - if you don't want your run posted, let me know!

Anyway, it was enough of a success that I would suggest we do this again next year, so I'll let you know the arrangements...

Thanks for organising this Paul, I had a great day, lot's of smells, lot's of noise and no cars broken - result! Sorry I had to rush off before the BBQ later but I had to get back for some concert tickets we had booked six months ago. It's impossible to compare numbers from one Dyno to another on seperate days so even those with lower numbers than expected (myself included) should not panic that their car is suddenly sick

I look forward to the YouTube videos and apologise for the ear bleeding whine from my turbocharger. It honestly does not sound like that in the car and when it drives past it sounds like this:

A good dyno day- thanks for organising it. Triton guys were very good- would like to think
their figures a bit low especially Paul S's. Good to meet up with everyone- sorry I didnt make
it to Jons and barby but was pushing my luck with SWMBO and just made it back in time to
get ready for guests.

Well - thanks for organising this Paul I had a cracking day.

Paul interesting to compare our cars, same year, same mods and 1hp different - must have been that 99 Ron petrol you were running......

It was also good of Triton to let me have a second run for free to compare the MAXHP chips to those of Jon Mitchel. I would love to be able to say the second run restored the lost 20hp from my last dyno run but alas not - the difference was 0.2hp. So I have a spare set of chips, if anyone wants a set they can have them for what I paid.

Come to the conclusion I am going to standardise on a dyno near me to check power - as Paul says different Dyno's even the same make cannot be trusted to give the same results.

Not just dyno's, the dyno could have been recalibrated since your last visit, different atmospheric conditions, different tyre pressures etc. etc....

Yeah I know but for the best chance...............

I think I'll choose the one that gives the highest hp

Ah, no... that's supposed to be the whole point of DD RR shoot out mode!! It uses a std set of variables so that you can compare readings.... or that's what the theory says. The only poss shoul be the need for recal. Even JM was confused.
