Thanks guys, that's two great idea's to look at. Like the idea of Eden camp, lots to do & see plus the car show. Also not to bad for most regions to get there. But still like the Harewood house event.

John

I would not be interested in another one make show. Seans got that covered with Gaydon. But just trying to organize more Pork to support an existing show like Harewood. Where there are already other things to do all be it pretty weather dependent would get my vote. No extra expense or risk for the club but a bigger row of Pork to look at. There was plenty of space for more cars. I enjoyed looking at the alternatives!

Just had another idea if you are looking for a venue with a few more attractions perhaps you might like to consider Eden Camp, the POW camp just outside Malton. Lots to do for kids and grown ups, good cafe etc. Sunderland and district classic car club hold an event there each year and i do not think that the charges (if any) will be too expensive.
Also there are lots of local attrections for anyone wishing to make a 2day event. Saturday chip shop run?
Best regards, Barry.

Scotland region recently visited Eden Camp as part of their Autumn Yorkshire WOTY around Malton.
We enjoyed it and it was pretty popular.
However not sure how many of the guys would be prepared to drive 4 hours to the same venue again?

Stephen,
Where ever we hold an event it will not be near Scotland. The region is just to far away.

The main idea is to bring the Nothern part of the club together and just meet up with other regions. So a central show for most of the regions is what I am looking for.
Not sure about going to Harewood in June with PCGB. Also cost £10.00 per person to get into this event. Money goes to Harewood house only.
Cars in the park at Harewood sounds a good event. This event is run by Harewood so the entry fee is about £4.00
But I will keep looking over the coming weeks.
Stephen, not sure my connections will help that much. But will try.

+1 John
I think Cars In The Park @ Harewood House or Newby Hall would be a good event. No risk involved as its organised by someone else.

2010 Dates
9th May 2010 - Newby Hall (shared with the Flower Show again).
12th September 2010 - Harewood House

The orange lambo was at the Air Ambulance show at Dormans Club, is that the one you were thinking of?
I think that of the two Cars in the Park Shows, the Harewood House one was better as there were more attractions, other than the cars, in the grounds than at Newby.
I like the idea of a show across in the Lakes too.

There seems to be a bit of a theme developing.
Everyone wants it in their patch

Anyone would think we didn't like driving.

Only suggested Harewood as I've been to it & it's well organized & had a lot of different metal there to look at. But sure that some of the other shows would be just as good. Penrith is as far North as I'd want to go to & come back the same day. But don't know of a show up there. Still a long trek from Scotland.

The only 2 I know of that I believe that they would be worth attending are
Newby Hall Classic car show (not CITP)
http://www.newbyhall.com/netbuildpro/pr ... ews_item=6
or
The Pageant Of Power at Cholomomdy Castle
http://www.cpop.co.uk/ which is being billed as the Goodwood of the North
Unfortunatly for the Scottish members anywhere is going to be a long way for some of them, even if its in Scotland

The Scottish group have never been afraid to travel ...or of the rain.
I have attended shows in Scotland that have turned into quagmires and been torrential rain alll day long.
Every one has been a great turnout and every person had a good time.
Last year Scotland region organised weekends at Gaydon and Malton.
Huge distances for them yet they fielded in excess of 25 cars at both...
They are the best organised and enthusiastic group in the Club.

I can see this turning into another us and them if we are not careful!!
I did not get chance to go to either Newby Hall or Harewood last year as I was travelling with work however I have been previously and both are great events with more to do and see for the family at Harewood.
