Yes to any of those 3 circuits, as they are under 3 hours drive from me.

Looking at PCGB, they look to be having issues filling their second date at Blyton which is in a month or so time, yet the earlier date sells out!
I have tried numerous times to get members/owners I know enjoy these days to attend Blyton to no avail!

It does seem as if the location and the dates of these events have a large baring on attendance...

I'd like to attend a day again, but timings as ever are important.. this year was impossible as I was on a Stag day- which doesn't happened every year :)

If a date and venue could be found sooner rather than later (for a club trackday in 2016) we would have plenty of time to promote it here, on the website and via the regional meets. I genuinely feel that a tipec day has got to be one of the safest, most friendly, trackdays one could wish for.

Is this open to anyone or just PCGB members?

If anyone is thinking about a track day, then it makes perfect sense to be among friends who care as much about your car as they do their own.

I'd love to come, but not sure I could commit to anything until nearer the time.

As far as I'm aware its PCGB members only, but it may well be cancelled due to the lack of interest on the date proposed.

After chatting to MOT about various options the following seems to be the case.

Bedford is probably too strict on noise for us as modified cars/non standard exhausts etc will fail sound testing.

Castle Coombe or Mallory would be ok but a late spring or summer date would mean a cost of around £240 per car and more cars on track so the organiser could cover costs. The higher cost I think would limit participation and I would like to keep it at a similar level to 2015.

That leaves us with either a return to Blyton Park or a date at Rockingham. The latter might give us an option to try out the skidpan and allow "taster" sessions for anyone unwilling to commit to a full trackday. Whilst further south than Blyton it is a less forgiving circuit in places in terms of run off.

Can I please get an idea of preference between these two venues before I proceed further

TIA

Either for me. Rockingham would make a change. I've only ridden it, never driven. Location may encourage southern types to come in larger numbers which we need.

An amazing day at Blyton this year in possibly the safest venue in the UK for a trackday.A great event in any case. :D

The NW region will do its best to support another trackday wherever the venue.

date permitting, I'll be at a TIPEC track-day. Would like to try a different venue to add some variety :)

Don't care where it is - if it's possible for me to get there, I'll make it happen.

Notwithstanding being a "southern type" , I'd prefer Blyton to Rockingham. I was at Rockingham for its first ever race meeting and am still traumatised by the experience all these years later.

I would like to register my interest in another TIPEC event after having a great time at Cosford a couple of weeks back.

A trackday is something i am interested in doing and have been thinking about.

If it helps, heres my initial thougts.

Most important to me is a minimal risk of collision, whether it be with another car or barrier. I have track driving experience, but the are called accidents for a reason (they tend to happen out of the blue).

Mallory is just down the road from me, but i am concerned about the lack of run off areas and the way the track funnels everyone into the hairpin and 'the bus stop' increasing the chance of collision.

I would be happy paying a bit more, and only being on track with like mined TIPEC owners/drivers.

And finally, i'll come for a club event whether i decide to drive the track or not. Also i dont mind chipping in ten or twenty pound as a spectator if it helps the event take place.

I hope this doesnt come across wrong or offensive in anyway. Im just trying to help give ideas by sharing my thoughts.

Kindest regards

Simon
