Re: Great Dorset Gatherings, Sunday 21st June & Sunday 19th July
Hi Jim,
Paul Bird and I "manage" central region and also put on approximately 35 meetings and events each year. Wed even had cars at Poole harbour again this year
Give it a go if you can but with a small informal group to assist you. There is no need for the R.O. to do everything
Paul and I have managed to get willing helpers to organise or support the organisation of special events to ease the work load.
To our way of thinking there is no need for formal meeting minutes, but there is a need for enthusiasm and help. With the number of members you have (30 at last year end according to my figures) and the manner in which the region has grown so successfully I would be astounded if there was not the support there from others to build on the success you have enjoyed and worked so hard for.
Now that the regional dividend cheque I sent you has been cashed why not have a Southern BBQ together with a quiz or mini concours and get Brett to throw in a prize or two.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your words of encouragement. At the region's club night last night we decided that we really did need someone "in charge" even if, as you say, they just delegated work to others. To this end Nick Snook has accepted the RO position.
The regional dividend is safely with our treasurer and will doubtless be put to good use supporting our annual Fun Day.

Shock, horror, we even decided that attending the PH Great Dorset Gathering at Kingston Lacey on Sunday 19th July was a good idea

Well there are a lot of nice people contributing to PH (all my aliases for example) even thoughhotblack944 wrote:Shock, horror, we even decided that attending the PH Great Dorset Gathering at Kingston Lacey on Sunday 19th July was a good idea
PH management wrote to me saying I mustn't promote any more of my videos there like at

or

or

or

and they banned my text

Also Sean wrote to me saying he has no problem with anyone contributing money or time to tipec even if they're not a member. He's a grand lad our Sean is.
PS Am currently seeking to persuade Brett I can pull up a camera from a bridge quick enough before it smashes into his windscreen. It's just that I want his face as close as possible to the lens approaching at high speed. If there're any stunt men in Tipec willing to risk their life for free please email me.

Is this 'good idea' still on. If so do we have to put our name on the list as website suggest or is the club doing a group booking type of thing

That's a fantastic picture, sorry My car was in bits with it's body restoration going on and I couldn't make it. Didn't even manage to get over to Sherbourne Classic event today either
You should put that pic up on the PH forum.
