Hood problem

Post by Wilbur »

Hello! Can anyone help with this problem? I can get my roof to go down. When i release the handle the windows drop as normal but nothing else! I removed the motor and checked/cleaned it all and everything works there so can only assume its something to do with the cables. The hood indicator light is staying on now which is also annoying! Any ideas? Cheers! :bounce:

I believe that the cables can break. Not sure of replacement but a google might produce some results. I understand there were changes during the Boxsters production which made them less likely to break.

If you do a search on the boxanet forum you will find quite a bit of info on the cables breaking and how to carry out the repair, also Gary Hubbard is often on there and he fits replacement hoods so has a great deal of knowledge.

Sounds like a microswitch problem

the switch in the front where the hook latches has 2 microswitches in it , you sometimes end up with dry solder joints in this causing the said effect.... it is held up by 2 torx 30 screws under the 2 black covers..
