Boxster passenger door won't open

I've had a 1997 2.5 Boxster for 10 years, lovely car but just developed passenger door lock problem. It won't open whether I use the remote or door key - and I get the double beeps when opening. The dashboard door lock/unlock red light is now always on. Can I get the passenger door panel off to get at the lock mechanism with the door locked - or do I need to access the lock in some other way to open the door?

Thanks for your reply and link - but it was not needed, the passenger door suddenly began opening again.
Then recently, the problem repeated. Fortunately the door has recently opened to allow door panel removal. Fault now traced to corroded electrical connector box in the door post. Does anyone know a supplier of these connector units - looks like a BMW part number stamped on it (1 392 603) but BMW not able to help.
