TiPEC Cheshire & Staffs North Wales Run (Evo Triangle)

Post by DaveW »

TiPEC Cheshire & Staffs have planned to do another run into North Wales this Sunday 20th July.

Arrangement currently is to meet at the Crown Pub in Pantymwyn near Mold (Postcode CH7 5EH) from 10am followed by a run out down the A494 past Ruthin towards Corwen and up to Betws-y-Coed (A5) up to Denbigh (B4501) back past Llyn Brenig and down to Corwen, followed by a run back to the We Three Loggerheads Pub, Ruthin Road, Gwernymynydd, (Postcode CH7 5LH) for a late lunch.

This is all subject to numbers interested in joining us. If there is insufficient interest we will take a view Friday evening to cancel.

Consequently please contact me here or via email watson_david@btinternet.com, if you are interested in joining us (the more the merrier). We must stress that maps will be issued to those turning up such that each car can enjoy the run at their own pace...mindful of other road users :D .

Would love to join you but... a 6am start would make it more worthwhile for me to take advantage of lighter traffic conditions.

These cars are meant to be driven and not stuck behind a caravan.........
Therefore an early dart will give us a better opportunity of lighter traffic

I think Mr Smallman knows exactly what I mean! Which is: from a purely personal point of view, if I was heading into North Wales wi' 911 & the evo triangle in mind, I would probably head off early so as not to encounter much traffic. I wouldn't want to be holding any one up... the exception to this of course is the Porsches on the Prom event that does traditionally lead to the evo, but that's a different kind of day out.

Have a good run and watch out for middle aged men on sports bikes and members of the constabulary ;-)

Following some discussions, I have plotted a route that follows the link attached...https://goo.gl/maps/fwdbm. Meet at 10am at the Crown Pub, Pantymwyn.

I now have the following folks confirmed: John B (964), Barry S (964), Iain B, Graham C (3.2 Carrera), Gareth D (944 Cab), Malcolm Q (Boxster), Darron and myself (928/911). With 3 more provisionals.

Any more takers??

Can you all msg me your menu choices for The Three Loggerheads please. I have reserved a table for 1:30pm. I need to get back to them tomorrow. Hoping to have bacon butties available at The Crown prior to departure.

Thanks to everyone that joined the run out today into North Wales. 19 people in 10 cars was a better than anticipated turn-out! Thanks also to Moggy (914 Rally Car) from DDK who helped navigate us round the route on his local patch.
