Post by wolofski »

:( just got car back on road after a year, it never use to do this but when u start it now, you have to make sure it is in park and some time it will not start so its a case of sliding gear knob to drive then push it hard to park and that seems to work. it drives well changes gear ok ,kicks down ok but some time the lights on the tiptronic indicator on dashboard flash from 4 to drive..

need some advice plse

My guess would be gear change interlock & the cable needing adjustment.

Hi
I have the same issue. It seems when the car is cold I get the flashing lights (4 and D), but if you drive it for a while, switch off and re-start it is fine. The car has already had the selector module replaced as the gearbox has previously gone into limp mode so would this behaviour of flashing lights but still have all gears in auto (manual does not work) be systematic of a more mechanical issue if the interlock and cable?

Thanks in advance.

Rob, it will need scanning to find out what is going on. I suppose by selector I assume you mean the multi-function switch.
How many miles has the car done? Has it had the fluid level checked, possibly changed with the filter & readapted?

Hi Jim,
by selector I assume yes multi-function switch, but I think the garage called it the neutral switch?

Mileage is 68k and as far as I am aware it has not had a gearbox oil change. Just moved the car off drive (reversed), stopped car then started it to get it back on and the error cleared.

I have reversed the car back on drive so when I next drive off it will be forward to see if that makes a difference.
