I hope you are well and surviving the cold weather, although I think our region has been reasonably lucky and missed the worst of it so far.
Sadly I missed the last club night, due to work commitments, but I understand 11 of you attended.
The post-Christmas shindig was a great success and enjoyed by all who attended. Meeting in Bury St Edmund’s for pre-match drinks from 4 pm onward’s, followed by a very nice meal at Ask Italian and then more drinks in another pub afterwards seemed to be an agreeable formula, albeit, leaving some sore heads (and bums) on Sunday morning.
The Steering Committee met last weekend to have a run through of the shows and events that are currently on the agenda for the coming year, and there certainly are plenty to choose from. It is obviously not practical for everybody to attend all of the events, but what we will try to do is keep you informed as to what is coming up, be it an organised event or an ad-hoc event. The easiest way for us to inform you is via our Facebook page, although we are also going to try sending out emails mirroring the Facebook posts when possible.
As always, your suggestions are very welcome by either contacting one of the Steering Committee or simply posting on our Facebook page.
We also discussed the possibility of arranging more weekends or overnight trips, sort of a mini road trip to a pre-arranged point of interest and evening meal and a few drinks, stay in a hotel and either head home the following morning or tie in with a car show or other event. The possibilities are endless, and we welcome your feedback as always.
Those of you who have showed an interest in the Nurburgring Old Timer Grand Prix weekend, please check out our Facebook page for more details as the tunnel crossings will need to be booked ASAP due to the event falling within the school holidays and trains fill up very quickly.
We already have a pretty full calendar of events, and there are also numerous ad-hoc events TBC.
Again please keep an eye on our Facebook page as the season progresses.
The next club meet at The Woolpack is February 26th, hopefully see some of you there, work permitting.
