Thurs 10th – Sun 13th January – Autosport International

Held at the NEC since January 1991, Autosport International will be celebrating its 29th anniversary between the 10th and 13th January 2019 at the NEC in Birmingham.

This annual pre-season event covers all areas of motorsport, both professional and grass roots, from karting right up to Formula One. Featuring the very latest in motorsport, automotive and performance engineering technology, alongside cars and exhibitors from every level of motor racing, this must-attend event uniquely caters for the industry and motorsport fans alike; encompassing two trade-only days for members of the motorsport industry to meet, network and do business and two days for enthusiasts to see the fastest cars, biggest stars and most amazing live action.

Sun 27th January – Karting Part II: Return of the Track

Everyone enjoyed the Karting last time so I’ve arranged another morning with the same setup. The price will be the same at £30 a head (based on teams of 3) including breakfast at the track in their rather nice cafe area. The event will consist of 5-10 minutes practice followed by a team race lasting around 45 minutes, 3 members per team in a relay.
Spectators are welcome and they have a viewing area above the start/finish straight. We’d ideally like 15-18 people going, so 5 or 6 teams. Anyone who wants to go will need to pay Stuart in full by 7th January into the TIPEC bank account with the reference Karting (Once we’ve booked the track time no refunds will be available). Stuart will provide the account number by PM to those who want to go. As always if you have any questions please ask.
This is a TIPEC members event only so if you’ve not signed up for TIPEC now is a great time.

All participants will be required to wear a balaclava and helmet, gloves are optional. You’re welcome to bring your own helmet, balaclava and gloves although they can provide them. The rather fetching suits are also provided. Shorts and light T shirt are highly recommended as you’ll get very hot in their race suits.

This was a very enjoyable event last time and it’d be great to have the same great turn out and atmosphere as last time.
