You may or may not be aware but as of May I am stepping into the role of R.O from John Pye. Brenda is still staying on as A.R.O for the foreseeable future. I am sure you will all agree that John has done a sterling job over the years. And will be a hard act to follow.
Our first upcoming event is the drive out that was mentioned in the April meeting to the North Yorkshire Dales and the Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in England at 1700 feet above sea level, on Sunday 16th May. Phil Wignall has kindly offered to organise the route and directions are being printed up for everyone. This will start by meeting at the MacDonalds Restauraunt on the A59 near Clitheroe at around 10:00 am with a view to leaving on our route for 10:30. The run will go through Settle then into Ingleborough and taking on the Buttertubs pass. The postcode for the MacD's is BB7 9WF for those with Sat Nav or if you are using Autoroute etc.
If you are attending the meeting you can let Phil or Myself Know if you are attending. If you can't make the meeting we need to know by Tuesday 11th May at the latest so we can let the pub know the numbers. We aren't planning an absolute warp speed drive and hope to make stops to re-group or take photos etc with a view to getting to the pub at around 1:00pm.
Also those going to Le Mans can make more definate plans as it's not that far away. I for one can't wait, being a Le Mans virgin. Anyway I hope you can make the meeting. If not we hope to see you in the near future. There will be a schedule posted soon with up coming events beyond the drive out. Please feel free to get in touch with any ideas for future gatherings.
